Getting Started

First Launch

When you first launch Marknote.AI, you'll be greeted with a clean, intuitive interface. The application is divided into three main panels:

  1. Notebook Panel (left): Where you manage your notebooks, sections, and notes
  2. Editor Panel (center): Where you create and edit your notes using Markdown
  3. AI Assistant Panel (right): Where you interact with various AI models

Setting Up Your First Notebook

  1. Click the "+" button in the Notebooks section
  2. Enter a name for your new notebook
  3. Press Enter or click outside the text field to create the notebook
  4. Your new notebook will automatically contain a default section

Managing Your Content

Creating Sections

  1. Select a notebook from the left panel
  2. Click the "+" button next to "Sections"
  3. Enter a name for your new section
  4. Press Enter to create the section

Creating Notes

  1. Select a section from the left panel
  2. Click the "+" button in the note list or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on Mac)
  3. Enter a title for your note in the title field at the top of the editor
  4. Start writing your content in the Markdown editor

Organizing Your Notes

  • Rename: Double-click on a notebook, section, or note name to rename it
  • Delete: Right-click on an item and select "Delete" from the context menu
  • Move: Drag and drop notes between sections or use the "Move to" option in the context menu
  • Search: Use the search bar at the top of the note list to quickly find notes by title or content

Using the Markdown Editor

Basic Markdown Formatting

  • Headers: Use # for H1, ## for H2, etc.
  • Emphasis: Use italic or italic, bold or bold
  • Lists: Use - or * for bullet points, 1. for numbered lists
  • Links: Link text
  • Images: Alt text
  • Code: Use inline code or ```language for code blocks

  • Real-time Preview: See your formatted Markdown as you type
  • Syntax Highlighting: Code blocks are automatically highlighted based on the language

AI Assistant Features

Chatting with AI

  1. Type your question or prompt in the input field at the bottom of the AI panel
  2. Press Enter or click the send button to submit your query
  3. The AI will respond in the chat area above
  4. Continue the conversation by sending additional messages

Switching AI Models

  1. Click the model selector dropdown at the top of the AI panel
  2. Choose from available models like GPT, Claude, Deepseek, Grok, Gemini, QWen, and more
  3. Your conversation will continue with the newly selected model

Saving AI Conversations to Notes

  1. After receiving a helpful response from the AI, click the "Save to Note" button
  2. Choose whether to save just the selected text or the entire conversation
  3. Select the destination notebook and section
  4. The content will be added to your current note or create a new note

Using AI for Writing Assistance

  1. Select text in your note editor
  2. Right-click and choose an AI option from the context menu, such as:
    • Improve writing
    • Summarize
    • Translate
    • Explain
    • Generate ideas
  3. The AI will process your request and provide suggestions

Generating Images with AI

  1. Click the "Generate Image" button in the AI panel
  2. Enter a detailed description of the image you want to create
  3. Adjust parameters like style and dimensions if needed
  4. Click "Generate" and wait for the AI to create your image
  5. Once generated, click "Insert into Note" to add it to your current note

Customizing Your Experience

Changing the Language

  1. Go to Settings by clicking the gear icon in the bottom left
  2. Navigate to the "General" tab
  3. Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu
  4. The interface will immediately update to reflect your language choice

Switching Between Light and Dark Mode

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Toggle the "Dark Mode" switch to change between light and dark themes
